Last Union Soldier Project – North Dakota
Beginning in 2003, the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War (SUVCW) embarked on the Last Union Soldier Project. The purpose of the project is to locate and appropriately mark the final resting place of the last Union Civil War Soldier buried in each county and in each state of this great country.
The Department of Nebraska and the Dakotas has identified the Last Union Soldier buried in each county in the state of North Dakota. When our research is completed we will begin the process of marking the graves with a bronze star marker, QR code medallion and ceremony when appropriate. If you wish to donate to this project, please contact us.
